Everything possible in China
With only one race to go this season, the fight for the Constructors' title has never been so tight. The Mild Seven Renault F1 Team leads the championship with 2 points more than the McLaren Mercedes Team. McLaren could have won the Championship at Suzuka, but saw this dream shatter when Juan Pablo Montoya had to exit the Japanese GP after only one single lap.
Last weekend's Grand Prix at Suzuka, Japan, was one of the most tensed races of the season, but the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai promises to be even more. Shanghai is the host for the last GP of the 2005 season and the Constructors' Championship still isn't decided. All eyes are on Renault (176) and McLaren(174), but behind the two leaders, the other teams are fighting for a better position.
Ferrari has 100 points and stands in 3rd position. Panasonic Toyota Racing has 82 points, its the best season for the Toyota Team, so far. The Williams Team will remain 5th in the Championship with their 64.
The BAR Honda Team has to be carefull that the Red Bull Cosworth will not pass them. BAR Honda has 37 points but feels the hot breath of the Red Bull Team (30 points) in his neck.
The Sauber Team (17 points), Jordan Team (12 points) and Mindardi Team (7 points) are the weak one's in the Championship.
We won't see the Sauber, Jordan and Minardi Team back on the grid next season. Sauber has been bought out by BMW, Jordan becomes the Midland Team and the Minardi Team will be the new junior team of Red Bull Racing.
In Shanghai, one of the 10 teams will have the honour of spraying the champagne and celebrate the end of the season with the Constructors' Championship title in his pocket.
