Mitsubishi withdraws from Dakar Rally and other motorsport activities
The economic crisis has hit another motorsport monument as Mitsubishi today announced its withdrawal from the Dakar Rally and all other cross country rallies. The Japanese manufacturer won the Dakar Rally 12 times.
The statement of Mitsubishi said: "The sudden deterioration of the global economy made it necessary for the company to focus its resources more tightly, and for this reason the decision was taken to withdraw its Mitsubishi Motorsports works team from all cross-country competitions."
