Massa frustrated by little track time
The weather conditions at the Sakhir circuit, hit by a sandstorm in the morning, did not improve and the three teams, in Bahrain for a long test session - Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, BMW and Toyota - had to stay in the garage. Therefore today's time sheet remained unchanged, with Felipe Massa's fastest lap (1.33.639) in the morning, ahead of Kubica (1.34.398) and Glock (1.34.902). The three drove a mere 53 laps: Felipe 17, Robert 22 and Timo 14.
"Obviously it's slightly frustrating that we could hardly drive today, due to the wind and the sand. But there's nothing we can do about it. We just have to accept it," Massa said in the afternoon. "Although I have to say I'm quite satisfied with the work done so far here at Sakhir. Yesterday we drove many kilometres and the car was better than at Mugello, more stable and easier to drive, with constant lap times. The Team has been working very hard over the last weeks as far as the setup is concerned and we could already see the results. After a minor problem with the software yesterday, today, at least for the laps we did, we were able to use the KERS as we should. There's still a lot of work to do here and in other areas, but I think that we're heading in the right direction."
After last nights match in London, where Brazil won against Italy 2:0 Felipe, an avid football fan, said: "I was lucky and I could watch the match. You can't miss Italy playing Brazil. I was very happy that my team made it, especially after some not very good matches. They showed that they still have a great fighting spirit. Thanks to the result I had a good day today with the members of the Team. If we had lost than I would have heard many jokes for sure. But instead it was me cracking the jokes."
Tomorrow Felipe will hand over the F60's wheel to Kimi Raikkonen, who'll arrive at Bahrain this afternoon.
