F1 has no financial discipline - Mosley

FIA president Max Mosley believes that the current state of Formula One is becoming ridiculous, and that despite the economic downturn in the last several years teams haven't changed their ways. And that if uncontrolled wasteful spending continues as it has, the FIA itself might have to impose budget limits for the teams to abide by.

Mosley told German news site 'Spiegel', "The endeavour for success has succeeded over any kind of financial discipline. Formula One is becoming ridiclous."

"Maybe we, the FIA, could turn things around completely and grant technical freedom while imposing limits to the budgets," he continued.

"Nobody can rule out the possibility of having a fax landing on the desk of a racing team's headquarters saying: Sorry, that's it," he said, possibly referring to the recent exit of the Honda Motor Co. from F1 activities.
