Heavy accident during Dubai Roadshow

The first Renault Roadshow of 2009 at Dubia ended up in an accident today. Multiple Middle Eastern Rally Champion Mohammed Ben Sulayem lost control over the R28 during a drag race against Romain Grosjean who was driving a Ford GT.

The Renault R28 crashed right into the pitwall resulting in heavy front end damage, as well as the left rear wheel getting ripped from the car.

Ben Sulayem remained in the cockpit for several minutes after the accident while marshals attended to him and helped him out of the car.

The Renault team planned activities at Dubai until 12 April, but at the moment its not clear if the accident will prematurely end the Roadshow programme or not.
