Paffett to test McLaren

Gary Paffett will get a chance to test a McLaren Mercedes Formula One car after his DTM title win. The Bromley-born, 24 year-old driver took the German touring car crown with third place at Hockenheim last weekend.

Paffett tested for McLaren in 2002 and 2003 but was unable to find a race seat and tried his luck at DTM instead.
Gary Paffett “I can savour the achievement of winning the championship and look forward to the test, because it is a step in the right direction to Formula 1, which is where I want to be eventually. Let’s see what happens. At the moment, it looks like I’ll be defending my title in the DTM, because there are no race seats available in F1 next year.”
