Update: Massa stable, but no further news on his condition
The Formula One world is still waiting for more news about the condition of Scuderia Ferrari driver Felipe Massa. The Brazilian suffered a heavy crash during the qualifying session for the Hungarian Grand Prix at Budapest this afternoon and was airlifted to the hospital. An FIA spokesperson stated that Massa is stable, but there is no further news on the condition of the future father.
Massa was taken to the hospital by helicopter
Just minutes after 17:00hrs local time, the Scuderia Ferrari launched the following message on their website: "Qualifying signed by an accident at the end of Q2, when Felipe Massa was hit by an object on his helmet. Worrying moments for the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro. Felipe is conscious and has been brought to Budapest hospital for routine examinations."
