Ralf and Willi split their ways
Ralf Schumacher has split with his long-time manager Willi Weber. The German Toyota driver confirmed the split on his official website. The pair will not renew their contract. Willi Webber will stay Michael Schumacher's manager.
Ralf Schumacher "Willi Weber and I came to the decision not to extend our co-operation further, and not to discuss the reasons for it in public."
Ralf's F1 career, like his brother Michael's, has been guided by Weber throughout. Ralf drove for Weber's team WTS in German F3 in 1994 and '95 before completing a year in Formula Nippon in Japan. After a McLaren test in the winter of 1996, Weber helped Ralf secure a drive with the Jordan team where he stayed until Williams signed him up in 1999. He began his tenure at Toyota at the start of 2005 and although initially the results failed to come, he ended the year on the podium.
Willi Weber told Sport Bild magazine that the relationship "simply did not work any longer.
"We had a beautiful and a successful time with one another, and we part as friends."
