Klien conducts straight line test to evaluate new package for BMW
BMW Sauber F1 Team test driver Christian Klien has completed a day of straight line testing to gather data on the new development package for the BMW Sauber F1.09. THe new package contains a new front wing, more deeply undercut sidepods, a futher developed double diffisure, a modified rear wing and a new gearbox.
Klien said: "These straight line tests are an important indicator. Up to that point, all developments and calculations were solely done in the wind tunnel. Only if you can compare the data with that collected during track running, do you really get an impression as to whether the updates work as predicted by the computers."
