Sauber sure of acquiring more sponsors
BMW Sauber team owner Peter Sauber has explained that he is expecting to acquire more sponsors by the time the season kicks off in Bahrain or at the start of the European leg of the season in May, even though his team currently has the necessary funding to fully compete this new season where they will once again be on their own without the aid of a manufacturer.
"I hope there will be more -- I'm quite sure there will be more (sponsors) on the car in Bahrain, or no later than the beginning of the European season," Sauber explained to reporters during the presentation of the C29 in Valencia, Spain.
What prompted the questioning is that the new C29 chassis is rather void of sponsor deals, with only but a few different sponsors on board so far for the 2010 season.
He also added, "We did not have much time to look for sponsors because we only started just before Christmas. It is also a very difficult time to find them, especially major ones (sponsors)."
