Sutil and Glock to drop 5 places on grid
Force India driver Adrian Sutil and Virgin's Timo Glock will both lose 5 places on the grid after requiring a gearbox change. Sutil will therefore start from 19th place while Timo Glock will be 23rd or 24rd, depending on his teammate.
Adrian Sutil had a terribly Saturday at Germany as in third practice he had to crawl back to the pits after a driveshaft failed on his car. The team was able to repair the issue, but not within time to allow the German some additional track time in FP3.
Upon further investigation, the team also found that a gear was damaged beyond repair, so that there was no other solution but to change the gearbox, resulting in the penalty.
Timo Glock meanwhile also suffered a gearbox issue and will drop 5 places as well. His eventual position however will depend on the problems on Di Grassi's car. The second Virgin car was sidelined during qualifying with a gearbox problem as well, but it was unclear whether a new gearbox would be required.
