Toro Rosso to use KERS in 2011
As part of the engine supply partnership between the Italian Scuderia's Ferrari and Toro Rosso, the latter will also be using the KERS package on the 056 engine from Maranello. The main reason being that the way the energy recovery system is integrated with the engine there is no alternative.
Speaking to 'Motorline.cc' STR's team principal Franz Tost said, "It’s mainly because Ferrari are going to be using KERS. So there are changes to the engine, especially at the front, and there is no alternative in terms of specifications."
