Raikkonen to test LMP1 Peugeot 908
Kimi Räikkonen, former F1 world champion with Ferrari is scheduled to test a Peugeot 908 today at Aragon motorland. The Fin has been rallying with moderate success since he left F1 and could be looking for a Le Mans carreer if the test runs well.
According to Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat, the driver will also have to learn the track first as he has not been there before.
Peugeot meanwhile are eager to sign a new driver as it is believed Pedro Lamy and possibly also Marc Gene could be released, clearing driving positions for new talent. Alex Wurz and Nicolas Minassian are also thought not to be certain at all of a Peugeot seat in 2012.
If Räikkonen would make an impression good enough to take a seat at Peugeot for the next 24 hours of Le Mans, he would be the second former F1 World Champion at the team as Jacques Villeneuve competed with a a Peugeot LMP1 in 2007 and 2008.
