DC back on the wheel

Brrrrr! A chilly one today in Barcelona, which meant there was some early morning thumb twiddling while the teams waited for the track to get up to a reasonable working temperature. David Coulthard took over the wheel from Robert Doornbos today.

David Coulthard was at the controls and as the session came to an end at five in the afternoon, Technical Director, Mark Smith felt the day had produced signs of "encouraging progress."

"We began by running some engine mapping tests," he continued. "The bulk of the day's workload was given over to evaluating aero development parts. We also ran some different types of tyre, but the need for consistency for the aero work meant we did not run an actual tyre test programme."

DC is back behind the wheel tomorrow.
