Ferrari continues to restructure tech department

Scuderia Ferrari is continuing the restructure of its technical department, and has now hired Hirohide Hamashima, Bridgestone's former head of tyre development. He will head the department that studies and optimizes the interaction of the car and the tyres.

At Ferrari's ongoing Wrooom! event at Madonna di Campiglio, the team's principal Stefano Domenicali said to Autosport: "He will give his contribution to the development of the car and the issue of tyres, as this was an issue where last year we suffered in some conditions."

The new appointment follows a series of incoming and outgoing engineers at Ferrari. Along those lines it was also recently unveiled that Marco Fainello, former leader of the performance group of ferrari F1, is now working for the road car department, and may soon be leaving the company for another Formula One team.

More new hires came in during recent months as many seem to follow Pat Fry from McLaren. Giacomo Tortora, a specialist in aerodynamics and simulation studies, move to Ferrari a couple of months ago, followed by Rupad Darek, Chris Heal and Lawrence Hodge.
