Hamilton edges out Alonso in final practice
Lewis Hamilton continued to top the timesheets during pratice for the Italian GP. The British McLaren driver however got stiff competition from Fernando Alonso who was a mere 0.001s slower around the high-speed Monza track. Paul Di Resta was third fastest and Felipe Messa 4th.
After the usual installation laps, Lewis Hamilton set the early pace around Monza. Both McLaren drivers have been on form since yesterday and seems to continue.
Alonso then improved to please the crowd a little over halfway, but soon found out that Hamilton was topping his time yet again.
The session went smoothly overall, except maybe for Red Bull Racing. Neither if its cars made it into the top 10 and Sebastian Vettel in the end even came to a halt along the track with a battery problem.
