Day 3 for BMW Sauber

By on

On the third and last day of testing at the Circuit of Jerez this week, Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica were on testing duty for the BMW Sauber F1 Team. The team will be testing again next week in Barcelona.

Nick Heidfeld:
Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-02 / BMW P86 V8
Test kilometres today: 354 km (80 laps)
Fastest lap: 1:18.675 min (lap 60)
Programme: In the morning the track was still wet, and that's why the team started the programme later than scheduled. Nick evaluated Michelin tyre options for Bahrain, but in the afternoon experienced a technical problem, which forced him to return to the pits and cost him some time. He was able to continue, but the team still need to analyse the data to identify the exact reason.

Robert Kubica:
Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-03 / BMW P86 V8
Test kilometres today: 359 km (81 laps)
Fastest lap: 1:19.956 min (lap 52)
Programme: Robert drove the new car for the first time and used the morning to get used to it. Later he ran cooling system checks and worked with Michelin on a Sepang tyre validation.

What comes next:
The BMW Sauber F1 Team will be testing again from February 14 to 16 in Barcelona.
