Raikkonen's back surgery successful
Lotus have released a statement saying that Kimi Raikkonen's back surgery has gone completely according to plan and that it will allow the Finn to start recovery as of next week.
As planned, Kimi Räikkönen underwent back surgery yesterday at The University Hospital of Strasbourg", the statement reads. "Lotus F1 Team is happy to report that the operation was totally successful, according to Professor Afshin Gangi."
"Kimi will now rest for a few days and he will start his recovery process as early as next week. Everyone at the track and at Enstone wishes him a quick recovery."
Raikkonen will not come into action anymore this year but is planning to be fully fit for winter testing with Ferrari early in 2014. Meanwhile, fellow Finn Heikki Kovalainen will race for Lotus in the final two events of the season.
