Vettel and Webber continue to lead the field in FP3

Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber continued to top the timing sheets at FP3 in Austin. The competition, led by Lewis Hamilton and Nico Hulkenberg isn't too far off but were unable to match the Red Bulls on neither of the tyre compounds.

Track temperature for FP3 is lower than in Friday, topping at 21°C. This makes tyre warmup a bit more difficult and requires drivers to put in a few more laps before getting on the pace. None of the top end drivers appear to be eager to go out early as a result of this, resulting in just 10 times on the timesheet 15 minutes into the session.

Next up is Mark Webber who goes fastest on minute 16, a tenth up on Sutil, followed by Grosjean, Hamilton, Kovalainen, Rosberg and Gutierrez. At this early stage everybody is also opting to run on the harder "orange" tyre.

10 minutes from the end, just as the option tyres start to bite the track, Vettel tops the timesheet, ahead of Webber, Bottas, Hulkenberg, Grosjean, Button, Rosberg, Perez, Kovalainen and Gutierrez. Both Ferrari drivers continue to struggle and might be having difficulty to get through to Q3 later today in qualifying.

The final 10 minutes are filled with track action as everybody has a final go on the medium tyres. Again, that proved to be Red Bull dominated while Hamilton, Hulkenberg and Grosjean confirm they aren't too far away on neither of both tyre compounds.
