Michael Schumacher leaves hospital
Michael Schumacher has left the hospital of Lausanne and will now continue 'a long and difficult' rehabilitation at his home in Switzerland, his spokesperson has announced.
The German seven-time F1 World Champion is continuing his recovery from severe head traume incurred during a skiing accident on holiday at Méribel in the French Alps at the end of 2013.
Today's statement by Sabine Kehm, spokesperson for Schumacher and his family reads: "Henceforth, Michael's rehabilitation will take place at his home.
"Considering the severe injuries he suffered, progress has been made in the past weeks and months. There is still, however, a long and difficult road ahead."
"We would like to extend our gratitude to the entire team at CHUV Lausanne for their thorough and competent work. We ask the privacy of Michael's family continue to be respected, and that speculation about his state of health is avoided."
