Ferrari may give Gutierrez Friday outings
Formula 1 grandee team Ferrari recruited its staff with the former GP3 champion and Sauber driver, Esteban Gutierrez. The heavily-backed Mexican may drive the SF-15T on a few Fridays.
Gutierrez has been tasked to help to improve the correlation between the real world and Ferrari’s simulator. He has been conducting intense program in the simulator since January. He was given a drive on Wednesday when Ferrari conquered Barcelona for filming purposes. He then travelled back to Maranello to work in the simulator and make the correlation better with his fresh experience.
However Ferrari haven’t made the final decision, they have been considering that they give the Mexican some outings in a few Friday practice sessions.
“I am really looking forward. It is something we need to really use as an opportunity.", started Gutierrez.
"It is great to have a reference, to have a direct comparison in similar circumstances. I really appreciate that the Scuderia Ferrari is considering this as an option. So I am getting myself as prepared as possible for that chance."
