Mercedes crowned champions after Räikkönen penalty
While the initial Russian Grand Prix result left Mercedes 6 points short of securing their second consecutive Constructors' Championship, a penalty for Kimi Räikkönen has now sealed Mercedes' title.
Raikkonen's last lap clash at the Russian Grand Prix with Valtteri Bottas was however still under investigation when the race ended, leaving the result to be provisional until a decision on that had been made.
The stewards have meanwhile decided that Raikkonen is to blame for the collision with the Williams and handed the Finnish Ferrari driver a 30-second post-race penalty, dropping him from 5th to 8th, and allowing Mercedes to leave Sochi with a 172 points advantage in the Constructors' Championship.
Mercedes meanwhile has immediately launched a social media campaign to enable fans to celebrate with them. More info can be found at http://www.mercedesamgf1.com/en/wonmoretime/
