Rosberg stays ahead as competition closes in
A trying session for many ended up with Nico Rosberg still heading the timesheet, beating Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. Not like the other two didn't try to beat Rosberg though as both men were seen spinning during the session.
It was particularly Lewis Hamilton who continued to struggle with his car, repeatedly making a mistake in the final chicane of the first sector. He frequently carried too much speed into the corner, either spinning or going very wide through the exit of it.
The competition was fierce, with times very close in a session where every driver appeared to need a proper trial for qualifying. This resulted in a very busy final 10 minutes, with various drivers complaining of traffic.
Daniil Kvyat was the only man being sidelined during this session, as he experienced a wastegate issue on his first outings that required fixing. The team later reported the troubled item would be changed and Daniil's car would be ready for qualifying.
