Mercedes delighted with the first outing
Mercedes' new challanger for the 2016 season debuted on Friday as the team tried it in Silverstone for the very first time. The team was happy at the end of the day as they did not encounter serious problems.
The Anglo-German team conducted a filming day in England with Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg behind the wheel.
Nico Rosberg was happy after the first outing as there were no major issues.
"I could push as if I raced Abu Dhabi yesterday so a good beginning."
Technical boss Paddy Lowe said the team was particulary happy with the reliability,
"Everything has gone very well. We haven’t even taken the engine cover off yet in the whole morning session which is a really good sign of the reliability that we’ve achieved at this point."
Teams are allowed to carry out a limited number of 'filimg days' when they have to use specific hard tyres and are only allowed to cover a maximum of 100 km.
