Ocon, Latifi with fresh PU components, Perez receives fine
Racing Point driver Sergio Perez received a fine for speeding in the pit lane while Renault driver Esetban Ocon and Williams racer Nicholas Latifi started the event with new power unit components.
Sergio Perez was found to have exceeded the pit lane speed limit which is set at 80 km/h for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. The Mexican exceeded this limit by 9.5 kph at 10:15 which is in breach of Article 22.10 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations. The Racing Point driver has been fined €1000.
The duo of Esteban Ocon and Nicholas Latifi started the thirteenth round of the 2020 FIA Formula One World Championship with multiple fresh power unit components.
The Renault and the Williams drivers have received a new internal combustion engine, turbocharger, MGU-H and MGU-K.
Up to this point of the season, both drivers have used two Renault and Mercedes ICEs, TCs, MGU-Hs and MGU-Ks respectively. With the Sporting Regulation permitting three units from all these elements, the changes are in conformity with the regulations and therefore will not incure a penalty.
