Vettel and Stroll complete shake-down for Aston Martin
Just a day after the AMR21 broke cover in an online launch, Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll got their first taste of the car with which they will compete in the 2021 F1 seaon.
Ahead of its return to Formula One, the Aston Martin Cognizant team unveiled its 2021 F1 car, the AMR21 yesterday. The team, which is set to compete again at the pinnacle of motorsport following a sixty-one-year absence, is set to field a fresh driver line-up with Sebastian Vettel joining the Silverstone-based outfit’s regular Lance Stroll.
The Mercedes-powered AMR21 will feature the company's iconic British racing green colours. The new car made its track debut today as Vettel and Stroll conducted shake-down at a wet Silverstone.
The German and the Canadian driver shared the allocated 100km of running on Pirelli demo tyres.
The AMR21 will be in action again during testing in Bahrain on March 12-14, before Aston Martin makes its long-awaited return to the Formula One World Championship grid in the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 28.
