Ferrari confirms launch date for 2022 Formula 1 car

Scuderia Ferrari has become the second F1 team to confirm the launch date for its brand-new car with which in intends to tackle the 73rd running of the FIA Formula One World Championship.

Aston Martin revealed the launch date for its 2022 car on Friday when they set a date of February 10 for the unveil of the AMR22. Their Italian rival Scuderia Ferrari has now joined the Silverstone-based squad in confirming the all-important date with the Maranello-based team set to unveil its new car on February 17.

After a very difficult 2020 season which saw Ferrari finish down in sixth place in the constructors’ championship, the most successful team of the sport bounced back to finish third behind Mercedes and Red Bull.

Ferrari is set to participate in the 2022 season with an unchanged driver line-up with Charles Leclerc racing for the team for the fourth consecutive year while his team mate Carlos Sainz completing his second season with the team. The Spaniard finished an impressive fifth in the drivers’ championship last year.

The team is yet to announce the name of its new challenger which will be in action for the first time at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain when pre-season testing gets underway on February 23.
