Williams announce launch date for 2022 car
Formula One's fourth most successful team in terms of race wins, Williams have announced their plans regarding the introduction of their 2022 F1 car, the FW44.
The FW44, as the team's new challenger is set to be called, will be shown off in a digital event on February 15 at 1300 GMT. The new car will be piloted by Nicholas Latifi and Alexander Albon. The Canadian driver is set to compete for the third consecutive time for the traditional British squad while the Anglo-Thai is due to join the Grove based outfit, replacing George Russell, who will join Mercedes to partner Lewis Hamilton in 2022.
The new machine, the FW44 will be the first one that has been designed under the guidance of Technical Director Francois-Xavier Demaison, who was signed by Team Principal Jost Capito last year. The team ended the last season in eighth place, beating Alfa Romeo and Haas following a period of difficult seasons.
