Formula One's Italo-Swiss outfit, Alfa Romeo has teamed up with JigSpace, the 3D knowledge-sharing platform, to deliver a new, immersive experience for fans at the start of the 2022 season.

As part of the partnership, JigSpace launched the world’s first open, user-generated platform with App Clips and webAR, putting an interactive 3D version of the Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN C42 in the hands of fans worldwide.

JigSpace will allow the team’s fans to get up close to the F1 operation, through the simple action of following a QR code link, in order to learn about the innovation and design of the C42 in a 3D, immersive experience. The launch of the App Clips and webAR viewers bring the power and accessibility of Jigs - with their ability to share ideas, information, or knowledge about anything - and means anyone will be able to experience the potential of the metaverse as a way to share knowledge, via JigSpace.

Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur commented: “F1 is the pinnacle of advanced engineering and manufacturing on earth. These cars are so technologically advanced, especially in the new era starting this year, with a level of engineering complexity and nuance that can be hard to explain and visualise.

"JigSpace is just so useful for communicating the revolutionary design and beauty of our car, in an immediately accessible way. That’s why this partnership is so exciting for us. By using JigSpace we can show just how incredible our 2022 car is and give all F1 fans an intuitive, engaging experience that simply wasn’t possible before.”

Zac Duff, Co-founder and CEO of JigSpace said: “Being partners of Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN makes sense for us. We’ve been working in the space since we launched JigSpace in 2017, allowing anyone to create and share ideas, information, and knowledge in 3D. Our focus has been on driving true value and understanding for our users, so when this opportunity presented itself, we were immediately excited by the possibilities.

"This partnership is just the beginning of our expansion in this area, fans can expect more content released in conjunction with our partners over the coming year, and even more tools and features that define JigSpace as a knowledge platform. This partnership is a great way for us to show the new accessibility of the JigSpace platform through App Clips and webAR. It is a massive step forward, meaning Jigs can be viewed on the device in anyone’s pocket, with no need to download an app. It’s kind of like PDF, you can access it from anywhere, and that level of coverage is our goal. I’m excited that this partnership is how we get to launch it," Duff concluded.
