Alpine confirm the departure of its team principal Burno Famin

On the eve of this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix, Formula One's Anglo-French outfit, Alpine have confirmed that Bruno Famin will leave his role at team principal at the end of August.

Famin, with a technical background, joined Alpine in 2022 and became team principal in July 2023, following earlier successes at Peugeot Sport.

Ahead of the Spa F1 weekend, it has emerged the Famin will step down as team principal of the Alpine outfit which the French team has now confirmed.

Alpine's statement read: "BWT Alpine F1 Team can confirm that Bruno Famin will move away from his current role as Team Principal of the F1 division by the end of August.

"Bruno will be in charge of all other motorsport activities of the Renault Group at Viry-Chatllon. A new team principal will be announced in due course.”

Famin obtained his engineering degree from the National School of Arts and Crafts. In 1986, he began his professional career in logistics and transport in West Africa.

In 1989, he joined Peugeot Talbot Sport as a development engineer. In 1994, he left the competition remaining within Groupe PSA, and became a project manager, from where he left for Argentina before returning to France. In 2005, he became technical director of Peugeot Sport before becoming director of Peugeot Sport in 2012.

In 2019, he left Peugeot Sport and joined the International Automobile Federation (FIA), where he became director of operations for the sports branch.

Bruno Famin became CEO in charge of engine development for the Alpine F1 Team in February 2022.
