Alpine driver Pierre Gasly topped the final practice at the Dutch Grand Prix, beating Kevin Magnussen and Valtteri Bottas. F1technical's lead journalist Balázs Szabo reports from the Zandvoort circuit.

Drivers were greeted by challenging, damp conditions in the third and final practice of the Dutch Grand Prix.

Despite the tricky conditions, several drivers headed out on to the 4.2km track to assess the the grip level. The first drivers used Pirelli's wet weather tyres, but drivers quickly switched to the green-walled intermediates as the track conditions steadily improved.

However, the action was interrupted as Logan Sargeant suffered a high-speed crash.

The American driver ran over the grass on the exit of Turn 3 and it has sent him around and into the barriers at high speed. The rear end took a mighty hit which caused the fire to ignite.

The one-hour session was halted for a very long time as a chunk of metal barrier needed to be replaced.

The session was restarted with only two minutes left on the clock. With drivers following each other in close proximity, only a few drivers were able to complete a clean lap.

In the end, Alpine driver Pierre Gasly ended up with the quickest lap, from Kevin Magnussen in P2 and Valtteri Bottas in P3.
