Ferrari announce new technical structure after the departure of Enrico Cardile
Following the departure of former technical director Enrico Cardile, Scuderia Ferrari have now confirmed key changes to its Formula One technical structure.
A day after this year's British Grand Prix, Ferrari confirmed the departure of their chassis technical director Enrico Cardile, with Italian engineer having joined Aston Martin since then.
Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur has indicated that the Maranello-based outfit would confirm changes to its structure after the summer break.
The Italian team has now announced that it has entrusted the role of Technical Director Chassis to Loic Serra. As previously announced, the French engineer, born in 1972, will join the team on 1 October. Serra in this new role will report directly to the Team Principal, Fred Vasseur.
His expanded role means that he will be responsible for the following departments: Chassis Project Engineering, headed up by Fabio Montecchi; Vehicle Performance, headed up by Marco Adurno; Aerodynamics, headed up by Diego Tondi; Track Engineering, headed up by Matteo Togninalli and Chassis Operations, headed up by to Diego Ioverno, who also continues in the role of Sporting Director.
The role of Technical Director Power Unit continues to be assigned to Enrico Gualtieri reporting directly to Fred Vasseur.
The announcement could be seen as a confirmation that former Red Bull star designer Adrian Newey would indeed not join Ferrari.
