Having completed his last race with Ferrari at the season-closing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Scuderia has now released the video in which the Spaniard stages an emotional farewell speech.

After Ferrari announced in February that seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton would replace Carlos Sainz from 2025, the Spaniard has been linked with several outfits.

Following month-long paddock chatter, the talks ended in August when Williams confirmed that they secured the services of the three-time F1 race winner who will join the Grove-based outfit from Ferrari on a two-year agreement with options to extend.

With Ferrari granting Sainz an early release, the Spaniard has managed to have a first taste of the FW46 as he completed a filming day with Williams at the Yas Marina Circuit on the day after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix before he was able to take part in the Pirelli post-season tyre test.

Reflecting on his time with Ferrari during his farewell speech, the four-time F1 race winner reckoned that his former team-mate Charles Leclerc might pose a championship fight next year.

“First of all, a big thank you, these four years together are unforgettable. Four years in which Ferrari gave me the opportunity of winning my first races, my first poles and first podiums.

“Charles is an exemplary team-mate, and we have had some incredible moments together. Charles, if you want, you can win the championship next year!”
