Having hosted an emotional track day for the Spaniard and his rally driver father, Carlos Sainz, Ferrari have now released the video, showing off how the two-time rally champion got used to the 2022 F1 Ferrari.

After Ferrari announced in February that seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton would replace Carlos Sainz from 2025, the Spaniard has been linked with several outfits.

Following month-long paddock chatter, the talks ended in August when Williams confirmed that they secured the services of the three-time F1 race winner who will join the Grove-based outfit from Ferrari on a two-year agreement with options to extend.

With Ferrari granting Sainz an early release, the Spaniard has managed to have a first taste of the FW46 as he completed a filming day with Williams at the Yas Marina Circuit on the day after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix before he was able to take part in the Pirelli post-season tyre test.

Reflecting on his time with Ferrari during his farewell speech, the four-time F1 race winner reckoned that his former team-mate Charles Leclerc might pose a championship fight next year.

“First of all, a big thank you, these four years together are unforgettable. Four years in which Ferrari gave me the opportunity of winning my first races, my first poles and first podiums.

“Charles is an exemplary team-mate, and we have had some incredible moments together. Charles, if you want, you can win the championship next year!”

Just before Christmas, the four-time F1 race winner was granted a special day by the Scuderia, as the Italian outfit bid farewell to Spanish driver in memorable style by hosting a track day for him and his rally driver father, Carlos Sainz Senior.

The day saw the 30-year-old driver and the his two-time rally champion father get behind the wheel of the squad's 2022 car, the F1-75, sharing the Fiorano track betweem them.
