Former Sauber team representative joins McLaren
Following his recent exit from the Sauber team, Alessandro Alunni Bravi will be joining {McLaren Racing} as its new Chief Business Affairs Officer, reporting directly to Zak Brown, and sitting as part of the {McLaren Racing} Executive Team.
The Italian has most recently served as team representative at the Kick Sauber F1 team. Although his role was officially not referred to as team boss, he fulfilled similar tasks to the ones a team principal completes, having represented Sauber across race weekends.
Following his departure from Sauber, McLaren has now announced that Alunni Bravi will take on a newly-created role, joining the Woking-based outfit as its new Chief Business Affairs Officer. He will be reporting directly to Zak Brown, and sitting as part of the McLaren Racing Executive Team. He will take up his post from 1 February 2025.
This is a newly created position that will see the Italian provide executive leadership across a range of McLaren Racing business matters including legal, driver development, driver contract management and rights holders/governing body management.
The 50-year-old will take over leadership of McLaren's Driver Development programme which will be transitioning across from Stephanie Carlin, who will be taking on additional responsibilities within F1, continuing to report into Andrea Stella.
Commenting on the announcement, McLaren Racing's CEO Zak Brown said: “I’m delighted to have Alessandro joining us with his extensive expertise and motorsport background.
"Alongside managing our legal and driver development functions, he will also provide invaluable support on all professional driver business management matters, racing governance activities across our various rights holders and governing body relationships and broad business support to all our racing series as needed. We look forward to welcoming him to the McLaren Racing family in February.
