Alpine to support MotoGP's Pramac team
Renault's sporty car brand Alpine have announced that they will sponsor Prima Pramac Yamaha, winners of last year's MotoGP riders' world championship with Spaniard Jorge Martin.
Alpine will expand its racing portfolio by establishing a collaboration with the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP team while it continues to compete in Formula One and the World Endurance Racing.
The Pramac team used Ducati motorbikes in the past seasons, and become the first independent team to win the riders' title since Valentino Rossi did so on a non-factory Honda in 2001.
Last year saw Jorge Martin clinch his first rider's title with Pramac in a fierce battle with two-time MotoGP champion and factory Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia.
Ahead of the conclusion of last season, Martin has elected to move to Aprilia while Pramac will swich to Yamaha, ditching its partnership with Ducati. The revamped Pramac outfit will compete in MotoGP with Australian Jack Miller and Portugal's Miguel Oliveira, using the same specification bikes as the factory Yamaha team.
Ahead of the new season, Pramac Racing has confirmed that Alpine will be a main sponsor for the 2025 MotoGP season.
"In addition to Formula One and the World Endurance Championship, Alpine is strengthening its presence in Motorsport by becoming involved in the MotoGP World Championship.
"This alliance will create new experiences for customers and fans passionate about motorsport," said Alpine's sales director Antononi Labate.
