Aston Martin have headed to Spain to stage a test running at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, providing Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll the opportunity of getting the rust off after the winter break.

The previous weeks saw several teams organize test running with previous cars to give their drivers the chance to get themselves back up to speed after the winter break.

Ferrari staged a single day test outing at Fiorano with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc before organising a three-day running at Barcelona. Haas, Sauber and Mercedes also held running with previous cars while McLaren competed two outings with Pirelli, testing the Milan-based manufacturer's 2026 wet tyres at Paul Ricard and bringing the 2026 tyres with Ferrari on to the track at Barcelona.

Aston Martin elected to join the fray, hosting a running with their two race drivers, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The Silverstone-based outfit commented: "Back in action. Fernando and Lance took to the track in Barcelona today, getting behind the wheel of the AMR23."

Aston Martin is now heading further south next week, for two days of testing at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, in Andalusia on 13 and 14 February, testing Pirelli's 2026 F1 tyres. Alpine will be taking part on both days, while McLaren and Mercedes will do one day each.

The final pre-season test will take place at Bahrain’s Sakhir circuit on 2 and 3 March with Alpine and Williams running both days. This same venue will then host the only three day test when all teams will run their 2025 cars prior to the opening round, the Australian Grand Prix.

Pirelli stages its first on-track activity with McLaren at the Paul Ricard track in January, trying out the 2026 intermediate and wet tyres before completing a two-day outing with the Woking-based outfit and Ferrari at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
