Who is the most successful in Shanghai?

Ahead of this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix, F1Technical's senior writer Balazs Szabo takes a look at the drivers and teams with the most wins, pole positions and podiums.
This race first appeared on the World Championship calendar in 2004, always at this circuit, held every year since then with the exception of three years from 2020 to 2023. The inaugural event was won by Rubens Barrichello driving a Ferrari.
Lewis Hamilton heads the list of winners here with six and he also has paid the most visits to the podium with nine. Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg have been the second most successful drivers in Shanghai with two victories apiece.
Rubens Barrichello won the inaugural Chinese Grand Prix with Ferrari, while Michael Schumacher, Kimi Räikkönen, Max Verstappen, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo have all been victories on one single occasion.
Mercedes heads the teams list on six wins, two more than Ferrari, which as the most podium finishes to its name (13), one more than Mercedes. Red Bull and McLaren have three wins apiece. Renault is the only other team with a victory in Shanghai thanks to a brilliant triumph from Fernando Alonso.
Among the engine manufacturers, Mercedes lead the way with nine victories, from Ferrari (4) and Renault (2).
