A fine mess
Expensive business this motor racing - Christian Klien got fined a massive US$ 5250 yesterday. He was caught doing 101.1 km/h in the 60 zone pit lane today. His team mate could not quite match this performance, as DC had to find just 250 dollars to compensate for doing 61.1 km/h.
Going 1.1 km/h over the speed limit is understandable, but you'd think young Klien might have noticed he was going 40 over the limit. All this money will no doubt come in useful for the FIA officials to go on holiday - only joking - but neither David nor Christian can get close to their Friday driver. Robert Doornbos racked up a huge $6250 fine in the very first event of the season in Bahrain. And how can we forget Scott Speed's magnificent $5000 for swearing back in Melbourne.
Meanwhile, journalists staying in the little spa town of Riolo Terme near the track found a restaurant with the weirdest collection of dishes. How would you feel about getting your teeth into a Pokemon or your lips around a Dylan Dog? You could start with a bowl of Soap and then move on to a Schumacher pizza, or a Michael, described as a giant fantasy for two people, or a Senna even.
