Glad to be back at the front - Fisico
The Italian Renault F1 Team driver, Giancarlo Fisichella, bounced back strongly after two disappointing qualifying sessions at recent races. Fisichella was second fastest and will start tomorrow's race from the first row just like team mate Fernando Alonso who was able to let the Spanish fans cheer as he snatched pole position.
"Of course! I am really pleased with the result. The performance was good and I think we will be competitive in the race tomorrow. I am feeling optimistic, but a little sad too because this session shows how competitive I could have been at Imola and the Nürburgring."
Will the fight between Renault-Michelin and Ferrari-Bridgestone be close?"I think it will be very tight. The Ferraris have made a big step recently and they will definitely be fast tomorrow. We need to get the right strategy and try and beat them."
How is your car handling?"Like Fernando, we decided to make some set-up changes yesterday and then again after practice. In qualifying, the car felt fantastic, and I hope it will continue in the race so I can get onto the podium."
