Ferrari ahead at Indianapolis
Both Ferrari cars will fill the front row of the Indianapolis grid tomorrow as Schumacher drove to a faultless and easy pole position. Behind them are Fisichella, Barrichello and Alonso, all way behind the scuderia cars. It might well be the result of a careful approach of Michelin after the problems they had last year.
It is however not only Michelin that seems to be suffering, but as a surplus the McLaren's are far off their usual pace as Raikkonen just managed to get into the super pole and put his car in 8th place. Teammate Juan Pablo Montoya struggled even more as he was knocked out in the second part of qualifying.
Through were two Ferraris, both BMW, Honda and Renault, Kimi and the Toyota of Ralf Schumacher. One of both Saubers, namely that of Heidfeld had to stop halfway the qualifying with an apparent hydraulic problem and will therefore be in 10th position.
Surprisingly, Alonso was this time beaten by his teammate Fisichella without making any mistakes. It remains to be seen what the reason for this may be, but after a series of poles, 5th place on the grid may be a little disappointment for the world champion.
