Hockenheim and Imola axed?

If everything goes well, South-Korea and Mexico will have a place on the 2009 Formula One calendar. Bernie Ecclestone, the F1 supremo, also wants 2 Grands Prix in America. Ecclestone also confirmed that the Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps will most likely be included in the 2007 calendar as constructions on the infrastructure of the circuit already started.

Earlier this season, the F1 teams already made clear that they don't want more than 18 races on the calendar. New circuits and an equal number of races means that some of the races that are on the 2006 calendar will be axed. There are 2 circuits that have to fear for their spot in F1: Imola and Hockenheim. Both circuits have been in financial troubles for a while.
