Fresh from its momentous first vicotry in the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Honda Racing F1 Team has agreed an important partnership for the next race with Turkish Grand Prix title sponsor, Petrol Ofisi.

Petrol Ofisi is the largest and leading retail and wholesale petroleum distributor in Turkey. It operates two lubricants blending plants, 12 terminals and 26 supply units, and sells gasoline, diesel fuel and lubricants through more than 3,500 retail service stations (which includes its Petrol Ofisi and Erk brand stations). Petrol Ofisi also offers aviation and marine fuel, kerosene and natural gas. Its commercial and industrial sales unit offers fuel to companies in agriculture, construction and mining, transportation, as well as fuel oil distributors. Turkish conglomerate Dogan Holding and leading central European petroleum company OMV jointly control Petrol Ofisi.

In Turkey, Petrol Ofisi will enjoy the benefit of a bespoke livery for the Honda Racing F1 Team’s T-car on Friday, with the company’s logo also featuring on the race cars of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello and the team’s trackside environment of the garage and motorhome throughout the Grand Prix weekend.

Welcoming Petrol Ofisi to the team, Honda Racing F1 Team Chief Executive Nick Fry commented: “Our partnership with Petrol Ofisi for the Turkish Grand Prix is very exciting for both parties, especially since it comes hot on the heels of our fantastic win in Hungary three weeks ago. We are delighted that Petrol Ofisi, title sponsor of the race this weekend, will be able to share in this thrilling time for the team as we return to the racetrack fresh from Formula One’s three-week break and ready to tackle the remaining five races with renewed vigour. We look forward to a very enjoyable race weekend in Istanbul with Petrol Ofisi.”

Commenting on behalf of Petrol Ofisi, Jan Nahum, Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are very excited about our partnership with the Honda Racing F1 Team for the Turkish Grand Prix. The objective of our F1 involvement is to reach a wide international audience and our relationship with the Honda Racing F1 Team and Honda Motor Company underlines our global ambitions to expand into other international markets. In this context, we hope to develop our partnership with the Honda Racing F1 Team and Honda further. Our partnership in Turkey provides us with a flexible marketing tool in support of our title sponsorship of the race and in addition to excellent brand visibility affords us the added dimension of being able to really tap into our passion for F1 through access to such a leading team, its drivers and senior personnel. We are particularly pleased to be joining forces with Honda at such an exciting time in the wake of the team’s first win in Hungary.”
