We have a good chance - Alonso

The reigning World Champion, Fernando Alonso, starts from third on the grid, and expects to be fighting for the win. Alonso has to pass both Ferrari's to take the victory at Turkey as Massa is on pole and has team mate Schumacher next to him on the first row of the starting grid.

Fernando, how did qualifying go for you?

"Pretty well I think. The Ferraris are ahead of us, but we knew they would be very quick in qualifying. We didn’t have the pace on one timed lap, but our tyres have been consistent when they get old. That’s where we might have the advantage. So to be starting third is a good result. Giancarlo is fourth as well, and I’m not sure we could have done much better today."

Do you have a lot of pressure on you?

"You always have pressure in F1, no matter what part of the championship it is. If you are driving for a top team then you need to do the maximum at every race, and with only five races left, that’s becoming important. You need to focus on your own race and make no mistakes. Then, if you can win, it’s even better! We have the opportunity to do something tomorrow so why not be positive? We have a good chance."

Did you change the car set-up a lot compared to Friday?

"Not really. We made some changes to the suspension and front wing, plus we are using a different type of tyre compared to yesterday. It is working much better. Plus we have developments coming soon on the car, where we can make another step…"
