Final objective to win the Championship - Trulli
Jarno Trulli believes that the Bridgestone-shod Toyota team can be front-runners in Formula 1 next year, and will continue to push hard for a second podium this season.“This year we haven’t had the means to win Grands Prix,” he said at the Monza test this week, where he was undertaking tyre testing for Bridgestone. “But it’s just a matter of experience. We are learning all the time and Toyota’s potential is enormous. From 2007 we can be main players in the sport.”
Trulli recently signed a new three-year deal with the team, which takes him through until the end of 2009, and his objectives during that time are clear. “The final objective in my career is to win the championship. I know I can do it.”
In the shorter term, Trulli – who currently lies 13th in the World Championship with 10 points – believes that the team can finish this year off with another podium.
“At Monza,” said Jarno, “I’m aiming for the top 10 in qualifying and a podium in the race. If I don’t get the podium here, then I’m hoping to do it at least before the end of the season.”
