Final day of testing for BMW at Jerez
Robert Kubica drove on the final day of the test by himself after Nick Heidfeld was unable to take part due to sickness. Nick had felt unwell on Thursday evening, hoped he would feel better on Friday morning but, after completing an installation lap in Chassis 07, realised he was not well enough to drive for the rest of the day. Again Robert drove both cars and his programme included tyre work for Interlagos, transmission development, systems and aero work.
This was the final test for the test team with its tyre supplier Michelin. Everyone on the test team wants to thank all the Michelin personnel for their hard work, and wish them all the best of luck for whatever they may do in the future.
This is the final test before the end of the 2006 season. The next test in the winter months will be the first with new tyre supplier Bridgestone
