Williams remains tight-lipped
As there are a lot of rumours that Fernando Alonso's race engineer, Rod Nelson, will leave the Renault F1 Team to join Williams, F1Technical has contacted the press officer of the Williams F1 Team. The team remains tight-lipped, so we have to await confirmation if the 45-year-old will move to Williams or not.
Rod Nelson is a doctor of mechanical engineering from the University of Wales. Nelson joined Arrows in 1990 and worked in research and development before joining Simtek in 1993. He stayed with the team in 1994 and 1995 but then went back to work for Arrows when the operation closed. He moved to Benetton in 1997 and worked closely with Alexander Wurz, the Williams F1 Team race driver.
