Monteiro accepts WTCC invitation
While his management team is focused on securing his future in Formula 1, Tiago Monteiro, the Portuguese driver, accepted this nice invitation from Seat Sport and will try, on Tuesday a Seat Leon from the WTCC championship at the Spanish track of Valencia.
The idea came from Paulo Ferreira (co-promoter of the WTCC race of Oporto) and Jaime Puig (Seat Sport Team Manager).
Monteiro "As a professional driver, I am always interested in trying new cars and different factory teams competing in world championships. It’s a new experience for me, but I heard a lot of good things about the car and championship, and because I still don't have any contractual restrictions I thought it was a good timing."
Paulo Ferreira is the co-promoter of the Portuguese event of the championship and is obviously very interested in possibly having a Portuguese driver in the world championship.
