Ferrari still the team to beat - Fisico

With only one month to go until the start of the Formula 1 season, ING Renault F1 star Giancarlo Fisichella believes that Ferrari are the team to beat. Lap times have been close throughout winter testing, but the Scuderia dominated the second day of testing at Barcelona this week, prompting Fisichella to comment on the team's pace.

"Ferrari look the most consistent at the moment," said Giancarlo Fisichella, who was fifth fastest in his R27. "They are particularly strong at the beginning and end of each run. They are very competitive, they did a good job and they have worked a lot with Bridgestone. I think they have a bit of an advantage."

Felipe Massa's fastest time at Barcelona was 0.6s ahead of Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen. But, as impressive as the pace of the F2007 was its reliability. Massa and Raikkonen completed 107 and 154 trouble-free laps respectively in a single day.

As for Renault's own performance, the team was second best to Ferrari, with Heikki Kovalainen the faster of the team's two drivers.

"We are there," continues Fisichella, "but we are still a bit behind Ferrari. Heikki tried a new front wing package, and I think it was better. I will try it out and see how it balances the car. Hopefully it gives more downforce so I can have a better car set-up."
