Villeneuve eyes NASCAR drive in 2008

Jacques has confirmed that he is ready to join the NASCAR series in 2008. Although 2007 is set to be remembered as the year in which JV raced at Le Mans and released his debut music album, a whole new challenge is being lined up for '08.

"We're working hard with Craig [Pollock] on the NASCAR project for 2008," Villeneuve revealed to the Toronto Sun. “That's still the main plan."

According to the newspaper, Pollock is 'very close' to securing title sponsorship for Jacques' entry into the series.

"There may be certain teams that really don't want to be involved with him but there are other teams, very good teams, that do want to be involved," Craig commented. "His challenge is to go into something totally different and he's absolutely determined that that is going to be NASCAR."
